The Debbie Rayl
KINDNESS FOR KIDS PROGRAM
When it comes to identifying children in need, teachers and school counselors are often the first to recognize when a student needs extra support. The Kindness for Kids Program provides funding to teachers and counselors in the Green Local, Manchester Local, North Canton City, and Barberton City school districts who purchase essential items such as food, clothing, and school supplies for students facing hardship.
Every day, caring educators quietly step in to meet needs that might otherwise go unmet, often using their own money to do so. This program reimburses those expenses, allowing more resources to reach students while encouraging continued acts of kindness and compassion.
The Kindness for Kids Program is dedicated to Debbie Rayl, a retired educator from the Green Local School District, and to all teachers who go above and beyond for their students. We are grateful for the difference they make in the lives of children every day.
In 2026, the Kindness for Kids Program expanded its scope to offer youth development opportunities to build confidence, connect with others, and nurture personal growth through community involvement and group experiences that promote a growth mindset and positive development.

“He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, ‘Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.’ “
